Other guitar apps, galaxy or astronomy apps, PixelDims apps, and future apps may link to this policy, but an app-specific privacy notice controls when its data practices differ. Wade Sisco is the individual developer responsible for personal information directly collected through these products.
About Sisco's Guitar Trainer
Sisco's Guitar Trainer is an augmented reality app for iPhone and iPad that helps players learn guitar scales, guitar chords, and fretboard shapes for soloing. It is built around interactive guitar lessons that train pattern recognition, root-note awareness, and the chord relationships behind real guitar songs — without exposing players to heavy theory or fretboard markers. This policy explains what information the app and this website collect, how we use that information, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
Information you choose to give us
We do not require an account to use Sisco's Guitar Trainer. If you message us through the Contact us link on this website, we receive only the contents of that message and the email address you choose to send it from. We do not subscribe you to anything or sell your message. Email and hosting providers may process it only as needed to deliver and secure the communication.
Camera, motion, and on-device AR processing
The Augmented Reality (AR) trainer uses your device camera and motion sensors to detect finger placement on the guitar fretboard while you finger live scale patterns. This processing happens entirely on your device. Camera images, finger-tracking data, and motion data are not transmitted to our servers and are not stored after a session ends. You can deny or revoke camera access at any time in iOS Settings; the rest of the guitar trainer continues to work without AR features enabled.
Microphone and on-device pitch processing
Guitar tuning, live-note matching, pitch analysis, and instrument detection may request microphone access. Microphone input is analyzed locally in real time. The app does not intentionally record, upload, or retain raw microphone audio, and raw audio is not intentionally provided to advertising or analytics services. You can deny or revoke microphone access in iOS Settings; features requiring live audio will then be unavailable.
Usage and diagnostic data
Apple and integrated service providers may process app launches, screens or features used, ad interactions, purchase events, device type, operating-system and app version, IP address, approximate location inferred from the IP address, identifiers where permitted, crash reports, diagnostics, and performance data. This information may be pseudonymous rather than fully anonymous. It is used to operate, secure, debug, measure, and improve the app and its advertising.
Advertising, attribution, and app event data
The app includes advertising and measurement technologies such as Google AdMob and Meta technologies, including the Facebook SDK for App Events, to help us measure app installs, app launches, purchases, checkout activity, and the effectiveness of ads for Sisco's Guitar Trainer. These app events may be sent to Meta along with technical information such as your device type, operating system version, app version, IP address, timestamp, and advertising identifiers when your device settings allow them. Purchase or checkout events may include event details such as value, currency, product, or subscription status, but we do not receive or send your Apple payment card details.
Third parties, including Google and Meta, may collect or receive information from this app and from other apps and websites and use that information to provide measurement services, to target and deliver ads, and to improve ad performance. You can limit advertising tracking through iOS Settings, including App Tracking Transparency choices and Apple advertising settings. If you use Facebook or Instagram, you can also manage ad preferences and activity shared by apps and websites in your Meta account settings. Camera images, AR finger-tracking data, and motion data from the guitar trainer are not sent to Meta.
The app also downloads an all-ages catalog of promotional images from ads.wadesisco.com. The hosting provider may receive standard request information, including your IP address, device network information, and the time of the request. The app stores ad rotation, view, and click counters locally on your device so it can vary promotions. These local counters are not used to build a personal profile, and camera images, microphone audio, AR finger-tracking data, and motion data are never included in these catalog requests.
First-party promotional ads are labeled as ads and include a Report Ad link. Tapping Report Ad opens your email app with the ad identifier in a draft so you can describe the issue; nothing is sent unless you choose to send that message. The promotional image has one destination link and the app does not add server-controlled call-to-action or contact buttons over the creative.
Device information
When you load this website, our hosting provider may record standard server log information including your IP address, browser type, referring page, and the time of the request. We use this only for security monitoring and basic analytics about which pages (such as the guitar songs, guitar tabs, or guitar trainer landing sections) people visit most.
How We Use Your Information
The information described above is used only to:
- Run the in-app AR fretboard trainer, motion-based finger tracking, and the rest of the guitar lessons experience on your device.
- Improve guitar trainer features, fretboard visualizations, and the scale and chord drills we offer.
- Respond to messages you send us through the Contact us link on this site.
- Keep this website and the app secure and reliable for everyone who wants to learn to play guitar.
We do not sell personal information for money. Some privacy laws may treat advertising or measurement disclosures as “sale,” “sharing,” or targeted advertising even when no money is exchanged. Where those laws apply, relevant device, platform, consent, or request choices will be honored. We use advertising and measurement tools only to understand app performance, measure ad campaigns, and support the app's growth. We do not embed the Meta Pixel on this website.
Third-Party Services
When you install or update the app, Apple's App Store handles the transaction under Apple's own privacy policy. Any in-app purchases are processed by Apple; we do not see your payment details. The app may also use third-party services for advertising, app event measurement, and analytics, including Google AdMob, Meta/Facebook technologies and Apple-provided App Store services. These services may process information as described in this policy and in their own privacy policies. If we integrate optional services in the future — for example, sharing your favorite guitar tabs or guitar songs with a friend — you will be informed before any data is shared, and you can decline.
Data Retention and Deletion
Temporary camera, motion, spatial, and raw-audio processing ends with the applicable on-device session. Settings, progress, unlock state, and ad-rotation information stored locally remain until removed by the app, erased by you, or deleted when the app is uninstalled, subject to device backups. Support messages may be retained only as reasonably necessary to respond, prevent abuse, keep business records, or address legal obligations. Advertising, measurement, platform, hosting, and diagnostic providers retain information under their own policies and settings. You may request deletion of information directly controlled by Wade Sisco through the website contact method, subject to records that must be retained by law or for security and legal claims.
Children's Privacy
Sisco's Guitar Trainer is suitable for players of any age learning to play guitar. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app or this website, please reach out through the Contact us link and we will delete it promptly.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, and to object to certain uses of it. Because we collect minimal information — and because most of the guitar trainer's AR data never leaves your device — in practice this usually means asking us to delete any message you sent through the Contact us link. Data Security
We use industry-standard practices to protect the small amount of information we do hold, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) for this website. No method of internet transmission is 100% secure, but we work to minimize what we collect in the first place so there is little to protect.
